Get to the bottom of the truth

After a mysterious incident, Alterra left the planet in a hurry. The entire region is littered with abandoned science stations. What happened to the scientists who lived and worked here? Logs, belongings and data vaults, scattered among the wreckage, allow you to look at the picture of the incident from the other side. With limited resources, you will have to improvise in order to survive.

Find unexplored biomes

Swim under the gleaming blue vaults of the Winding Bridges. Marvel at the huge sparkling crystals in the crystal caves. Climb snow-covered peaks and explore cold glacier caves. Navigate between erupting hot springs to find ancient alien artifacts. In Below Zero you will find a completely new world for survival, exploration and wandering.

Build dwellings and vehicles

Build spacious dwellings, mine resources and craft equipment to survive in the harsh climate. Race through the snow-covered tundra on the Polar Fox jetbike. Navigate captivating and perilous biomes in the Seafarer Modular Submarine.

Explore alien life forms

The unknown will meet at every step. Swim through the gigantic Titan Hollowtail, track down the ghostly Shadow Leviathan, and visit the lovable Penguinwings. However, be vigilant. Not all creatures in this wonderful world are friendly.

Survive in sub-zero temperatures

Jump boldly, the water is warm. Sub-zero temperatures in this Arctic region pose a new threat. Above the surface of the water you are waiting for new weather conditions. Put on a warm and cozy thermal suit, pour a cup of hot coffee and warm yourself by the fire lilies to ward off the cold.

Ocean of intrigue

What really happened to your sister? Who were the aliens who discovered this place before you? Why did they live on this planet? Can we find comfort from grief in the truth? The story of Below Zero expands on the history of the Subnautica universe, delving even deeper into the mystery of the original game.

Development team

Below Zero is developed by the small studio Unknown Worlds, whose first project was Natural Selection, a modification for Half-Life, released in 2002. The same studio gave the world the original Subnautica game. Studio employees are dispersed all over the world - in the USA, Great Britain, France, Russia, Austria, Australia, Canada and many other countries.

Instructions for activating the add-on:

1. If you have not installed Steam yet, then download and run the installer: http://steampowered.com/download/SteamInstall.msi
2. Create a new Steam account if you haven´t registered there yet.
3. Log in with your Steam account through an Internet browser: https://store.steampowered.com/login/
4. Go to the "My games" section and select "Activate via Steam ...", read and agree with the Steam Service Subscriber Agreement and enter the key received immediately after payment.
5. After that, the add-on will be displayed in the "Library" section, and you can download it from steam.
